We are now live with North Valley Foundation. This means we can accept donations of real estate, stocks, bonds, etc. They will manage this fund for us and we don't have to worry about legal issues, they take care of all of that in-house for us.

It also makes us eligible for grants to do community service projects like the interfaith initiatives, community education and service projects we've been talking about through Annie B's. All wonderful stuff that takes us just one more step towards being a mainstream world religion.

We just received our paperwork back from the state, finally! We are still waiting for the federal package but this may be a moot point after our next meeting with the North Valley Community Foundation.

We will be setting up our first endowment under their umbrella to begin with. More to come as our federal paperwork is approved.

Our President, Jessie Olson,  and Secretary, Stella Caughell, met with the North Valley Community Foundation today to discuss setting up an endowment and a scholarship. Here's what we learned:

 1) We can begin a foundation for our various initiatives and our scholarship for as little as $50.
2) They only charge 2% to manage our foundation or scholarship.
3) We can earmark funds, leave funds in a general fund or do both.
4) We may be eligible for grants to fund some of our initiatives through this organization and others.
5) We will be able to accept real estate, insurance, and other large donations through this vehicle.
6) They offer insurance for special events.
7) They are super awesome about working with Pagans.
8) We can participate in their fundraising programs, including their annual fund drives.
9) This will lend a lot of credibility and legitimacy to our cause and help us make Paganism a more mainstream religion.

Our new bylaws were approved today.  The addition of the Board of Governors helps protect the organization that we've built against corruption and cronyism.

To see the changes take a look at our legal documents.

We have begun working on building the Fellowship and are waiting for our federal and state recognition of our non-profit status.

In February 2014, we will have our hard launch at Pantheacon in San Jose, CA. We look forward to seeing you there!
