Picture

President, Board of Directors
Jessie Olson, Chico, CA

Jessie has been a Pagan for most of her life and a practicing Neopagan for over 20 years. She has been an ordained Neopagan clergy-person since 2001.

She has enjoyed serving the Pagan community in many different ways over the years. She has organized Pagan Pride Day celebrations, volunteered as a hospice and prison minister, served as a Designated Faith Group Leader on two different military installations, lead several Pagan groups and churches, managed a large Pagan networking association in Southeast Arizona, and given numerous presentations on Pagan beliefs to various organizations. She is also a former ADF Senior Priest and has served on ADF's Mother Grove (Board of Directors).

She holds a Master's degree in Psychology and continues to volunteer in the non-profit sector as a fundraising and charity event coordinator, serve as Chaplain for the local chapter of the Veterans of Modern Warfare, and participates actively in Chico’s environmental and interfaith councils.

Jessie is primarily an Indo-Iranian reconstructionist, reconstructing the best practices of her Pre-Zoroastrian, Persian ancestors. She also has some ties to Irish and Germanic Pantheons as well.

As a veteran of the US Army and formerly homeless veteran, homelessness and poverty are major issues of concern for her. She volunteers with Chico's Peace and Justice Center, The Homeless Task Force and Food Not Bombs.

As you can see, she is also a great lover of veggies and fruits, and supports her local farmer's market and the slow food movement with enthusiasm as she personally has a black thumb.

Secretary, Board of Directors
Stella Caughell, Chico, CA

A practicing Pagan for 10 years, Stella follows both Heathen and Druidic paths. Her early experiences as a new Pagan with institutionalized discrimination fueled her passion for organized, public Pagan traditions, community outreach, activism, and interfaith work.

She has more than 10 years of experience serving on the boards of various groups and nonprofit organizations, and 3 years of experience in professional office administration and management in the real-estate and medical fields.

She has studied office administration, and business management at various institutions of higher learning, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication Science and Disorders.

She is the secretary for Cornerstone Pagan Fellowship, Board of Directors, and Feather River Grove, ADF – a Druid Fellowship. Additionally, she is the group organizer for her newly-formed Heathen meet-up and study group Seeds of Yggdrasil, and serves as a representative on the Chico Interfaith Council.

When she is not studying, working, or volunteering, you can find her doing Cross Fit, yoga, and African dance. She lives in Northern California with her small horde of ginger-haired sons, amid an assortment of craft and textile projects, several hundred books, and various species of pets.

Public Relations Officer, Board of Directors
Paul Matuszak, Boerne, TX

Paul-Gregory Matuszak is a 24 year veteran of the US Army who served 9 years as an infantryman and 15 as an All-source Military Intelligence Analyst with several special qualifications and missions. Since retiring in 2011, P-G has been a freelance journalist, proofreader, fact-checker, research analyst and photographer for several publications, mostly conservative leaning. Currently, he is a contributor to the Franklin Center’s Watchdog Wire news affiliate in Texas, Editor-in-chief of Mental Aikido (a news, commentary, and analysis publication), and an assistant editor and contributor to Brenner Brief News.

Paul has worked with several non-profits. He has volunteered with the American Red Cross and others during the Monument Fires in southeast Arizona (2011). He volunteers with Four Winds Rescue near Nixon, TX. He has served in elected office in the Mind’s Eye Society, an organization that performs charity and community service work on a regular basis. Paul has been appointed as a local level chief of operations, for a chapter (or domain) of over 30 individuals. Later, he was elected as the Domain Coordinator, equivalent to a CEO at a local level. The Domain Coordinator oversees all administrative function of the organization at the local level, including finances, budgeting, community service/charity coordination, and public /government relations.

Paul-Gregory was raised Catholic and once entertained joining the priesthood. In 1991, he converted to a lesser-known fringe sect of Judaism known as “Enochian Qabbahlism”. His personal belief is that the deities (known as G-d and the angels in Judeo-Christian practices) exist, but have different names and prioritization based upon the needs of each culture or community in the universe. In the Pagan community, P-G began attending rituals with the ADF’s Sonoran Sunrise Grove in Tucson, AZ in the spring 2006. In the fall of 2007, he officially joined ADF. P-G is currently listed as a member of the Hearthstone Grove near Austin, TX. However, he and his family tend to conduct their rituals in a solitary henge in their backyard. If asked to pick a pantheon, his answer would be “eclectic”. Paul tends to draw from deities within several hearth cultures that call to him; in particular, Norse, Germanic, Celtic, and Slavic gods.

Non-Executive Governor, Board of Governors
Sue Handley, Chico, CA

Sue has been a practicing Pagan for over 60 years and is a retired professional astrologist and tarot reader.

In the 60s and 70s she had the pleasure of taking in over 100 foster children at a time when single out lesbian women typically were not considered for this privilege. She was also blessed to adopt 7 of these children, most of them multi-racial, also at a time when caucasian individuals were not considered suitable adoptive parents.

Sue has never let barriers get in her way. She served in the US Marines as an openly lesbian woman during the Korean conflict and was eventually discharged for her "proclivities" when attempts to "cure" her failed.

She currently serves on the Board of PASSAGES, a nonprofit group that helps caregivers and older adults lead healthier, happier, and more rewarding lives by providing and supporting the critical services and community resources they need. She also serves on the Board of the Chico "Imperial Sovereign Court of the Czaristic Dynasty (ISCCD), a local chapter of an international organization whose focus is to build a better community through volunteer work and community outreach, with an emphasis on fundraising for local charities, while promoting the understanding of human diversity." She also serves as Treasurer for Feather River Grove, a Pagan Fellowship in Butte County, CA.

Her experiences with child and adult protective services make her an invaluable member of our Board of Governors  and her no-nonsense attitude serves us all well with a genuine reality check when needed.
